Equipment orientation is included when you sign up for a 3 Month or more Membership! We understand how overwhelming it can be joining a gym so we include a customize equipment training to get you started.

I have been a member of CHF gym since 2002.  It is the cleanest and best run gym of the many that I have joined in the past.  The entire gym is meticulously clean and the equipment is maintained to the highest level. Members also have to do their part by ensuring that the machines are wiped down after use and the rules are followed.  This gym is very friendly and members are cordial and helpful to one another.   It is a comfortable place to work out that is not in the least bit intimidating. When you join, you are provided exercise programs that are realistic and challenging.  Stacey is always there to provide helpful and positive critique on your form and progress.  She is also extremely helpful making suggestions relative to your health, eating, recovery from injuries and medical issues. She encourages you to do the simple things that make a difference, such as ensuring that you are sufficiently hydrated or doing things that are age appropriate such as working on your balance as you get older.  She provides excellent one on one training and there are group exercise classes led by absolutely excellent instructors.  Only within the last year, Stacey encouraged me to take up yoga in my late 70’s and this led me to joining other exercise classes. This is a full-service gym that will provide you all of the tools to meet your personal goals.  I highly recommend this gym and I believe that anyone will benefit themselves by becoming a member here.

Heavy Metal Yoga

Not your ordinary Yoga Class. We combine weight training with Yoga Postures to strengthen the upper body and improve core stability. Oh and we jam out to Heavy Metal Music. Experience it for yourself it's a class for every BODY!

Course Description

12-hour basic physical defense class. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring water and snacks.

Session 1

Utilizing the RAD student manual, students will be involved in a discussion of risk reduction strategies, date rape, continuum of survival, defensive strategies and the basic principals of defense.

Participating students will begin the process of hands on training. We also discuss the pros and cons of defensive weaponry, how to develop a defensive mindset, understanding offensive and defensive postures, recognizing vulnerable locations and utilizing personal weapons.

Session 2

Participating students will continue the process of hands on training. The techniques utilized by RAD Systems are based on simple gross motor skills and are developed to the point that they become instinctual through repetition.

Session 3

Students will have the opportunity to use these techniques in dynamic impact training by striking padded equipment held by the instructors. All techniques target a single attacker.

Optional

Students will then participate in “simulated assault” scenarios with RAD instructors, who along with participants, wear state-of-the-art protective gear specifically designed for this training. Women have the opportunity to utilize their skills in a safe training environment.
